About

USA Powerlifting is Colorado's choice for drug-free strength sport — mission, leadership, and how to reach us

Our Mission

USA Powerlifting Colorado is the official state branch of USA Powerlifting, the premier drug-free powerlifting organization in the United States. We are dedicated to promoting the sport of powerlifting across the state of Colorado through sanctioned competitions, referee development, coaching education, and community building.

Whether you are a seasoned competitor or stepping onto the platform for the first time, USAPL Colorado is here to support your journey in drug-free strength sport.

Leadership

Rachel Crass — State Chair

Rachel Crass

State Chair

Term: 2026 – 2029

Rachel's journey in strength sports began in 1992 with her first deadlift competition at just 7 years old. After two decades of Olympic lifting, she transitioned to powerlifting, inspired by her husband Jason and a nudge from former Colorado state chairs Dan and Jennifer Gaudreau. From running world-class meets to stepping onto the platform herself, Rachel has become a cornerstone of Colorado powerlifting.

What drives her? Making powerlifting accessible and inclusive. Colorado boasts a thriving masters community, growing teen participation, and gender parity at many meets — all signs of a welcoming environment Rachel is proud to foster. Her goal is to expand meets to Colorado's western slope, uniting the state's lifters from east to west.
